As for an answer to your original question regarding the location of "New Market", you will find it on a 1863 map of Spotsylvania County posted on David Rumsey's historical map site on the web. It is Plate No. XCI of a volume entitled "Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies 1861-1865". Do a search for Spotsylvania on Rumsey's site and several maps will appear, including the referenced map. You will find New Market in the southwestern corner of the County near Arnold's Run, branch of East North East Creek, branch of Northanna River. You will also find several references to properties with the name of Waller, including Waller's Church, Waller's Tavern and William Waller estate.
