The Robinson family in U.S. starts with
Col. Christopher Robinson b. 1645 d. 2/13/1693 from Cleasby Yorkshire. (Middlesex County, VA) He married Agatha Bertram Obert b. 1652 d. 1686.
Some of their children:
Anne 1679-1712
Clara 1682/84 - 1696/94
Agatha 1685
Christopher 1681-1727
John 1683-1749 **

Col. John Robinson m. Catherine Beverly 1701. He was Lt. 1729, Pres. VA Council 1734, Governor VA Coloby 1749.
Mary 1701-1739
Beverly 1722-1792 (died in England)
Robert 1711 (went to England)
John 1704-1776
Catherine 1715-
HENRY 1718-1756/59 ? (a place to start with your Henry)
William 5/25/1709 - 5/5/1792 *(my line)
Christopher 1703-1738 (went to England)

William Robinson VA militia prior to Revolution m. Agnes Smith
Elizabeth (all three girls married Nelsons)
Francis *(my line) b. 3/2/1765 Spotsylvania Co. VA d. 12/31/1840 Harrison Co. KY married Mry Emily Ann Terrill b. 2/6/1771 in Orange Co. VA. Migrated west to Harrison Co. KY around 1814.

You could start with Col. John Robinson's son, Henry.

Check out these sites for Robinson Old Homestead. It is in Urbanna, VA. I hope to go there next summer. There is also a cemetery on the 66 acre grounds. The lady that runs it (bed and breakfast) is a Robinson and a genealogist.

Francis Robinson's daughter, Frances, married my ggg grandfather Thomas T. Thompson b. 10/27/1787. Also my gg grandfather was Joseph Thompson Sr. b. abt 1799, on the other side. I'm trying to find out if they were brothers. These Thompsons came to KY from Orange Co. VA. There was Jarvey, Joseph Sr., William, Tommy T., Martin ?? That's where I run into a brick wall. How were these Thompson's related? My brother was named Jarvey so I know he fits in there somewhere. Any info on Thompsons? I have them on both sides.

There were a lot of Faulkners who came to Pendleton and Harrison Co. KY. Annie Mariah Faulkner married my great uncle, John Newton Ramey (brother to my g grandmother Joann Ramey)

Happy hunting. Let me know if you find Henry's line or recognize any of these names.
