Hi Donna, My Smiths are from Seven Mile Ford, Rich Valley, and Chilhowie area of Smyth Co. Va. Mine go back to James C. Smith b. 1799 N.C.-1861 and Lethe Brown b. 1805-10 N.C. They lived in Smyth Co. until they died.

I found a Bible of a Robert L. Smith, Smyth Co. with receits from Chilhowie Lumber Co. and Marion Co. Electric Co. along with a letter dated 1942 from his son Claude C. Smith who lives in Morristown Tenn. Also clippings thet mention Mattie Richardson Spoon(who is a Smith) her Brother Rank Smith from Springvale? and Ben Smith from Rogersville?.....anything sound familiar.....Bob Smith
