Are you saying that Martha Ellen was a HAYTON before she married? I ask because my cousin Paul (who has posted to the list) and myself have been looking for information on the grandparents of Paul's grandmother Martha HAYTON and my grandmother Margaret Victoria Ellen HAYTON. Although they were born in Lancashire UK, we know that their father John came out to see his parents in Jeanette, Pennsylvania in 1901. He subsequently died out there. His parents were Thomas and Martha HAYTON. We now know he had a brother James who was born in UK 1873. This week I have sent for the birth certificate of James which should hopefully give us the maiden name of Martha. I suspect (hopefully) as naming patterns go that your Martha Ellen was named after her mother? Maybe, just maybe she was the sister of James and John? I will let you know what I find out from the birth cert. when it arrives, could take up to four weeks...Any other info. you have will of course be gratefully accepted.
