According to the Shenandoah Herald, January of 1905, Furnace was bought by a syndicate of ex-governor Marriam of Minnesota, E Burton Hart of New York, and Andrew McKinney of New York. Furnace was running Nov. 3, 1905 furnace was closed between Nov 1905 and Oct 1906. E.D. Newman sold to Joseph T Jackson in Jan 1916. Source WPA Historical inventory project and Shenandoah Herald newspaper.
My Dad told me that the rails was taken up during WWII to support the war effort.
