Iron Mine Ridge, Manville area

Anyone ever come across reference to Iron Mine Ridge in old surveys in the Manville, Alley's Chapel, Black Oak branch area. It's popping up in a number of surveys ca 1830s for my 2g grandfather Amos Templeton, and hope to pinpoint it if I can. By his death in 1844, he owned ~860 acres between Sorrell Creek and Black Oak Branch, he was. I've also seen reference to a Big Spring Branch in the same area but it doesn't appear on the US Geologic Survey quad map - any help is most appreciated -
Jack R. Templeton
