I am searching for any information about the Harris family who lived on Copper Creek, 1793-??.
John, Benjamin and Lewis Harris first appeared at Copper Creek and are listed on the Russell County, VA Personal Property tax in 1793-1814.
Lewis Harris was Constable during the years of 1809/10. Lewis Harris' son, Benjamin Harris, stayed in the Copper Creek area and may have descendants still living there.
Edward Harris, who I believe to be a son of John Harris Sr, stayed and raised his family of children and grandchildren there and may have descendants still living in the area..
Edward Harris had four grandsons(sons of William and Susannah Harris) who served in the Civil War. Namely John D. Harris, William P. Harris, Charles W. S. Harris, and James E. Harris.
Any information about this Harris family is appreciated.
Thank you, Lillian
