Searching for Joel Wright, sometimes referred to as Joel Martin Wright, Martin never seen in official form. Also shown as having a wife named Susannah Bates/Bentley/or whatever but this is not true, her name is not known altho we have found a Bible with a last name but trying to find more proof. Joel was born approximately 1785, probably in Virginia altho family tradition says maybe North Carolina. Joel shows up in Russell Co. Virginia in 1804 as 1 tithable meaning he was probably 21 years old. There was an older man named William Wright there also. Would appreciate any known information on these people. Joel came to Perry Co. Kentucky in the fall of 1822 per family information. He appears on the tax list in 1824. Thank you.
