THE FIRST MARRIAGE BOOK OF RUSSELL COUNTY
Posted by: Chris Compton (ID *****7742) Date: January 14, 2003 at 19:48:03

WHO HAS THE 1ST MARRIAGE BOOK OF RUSSELL COUNTY? I KNOW THAT IF IT DIDN'T BURN UP THEN SOMEONE HAS IT HIDDEN SOMEWHERE IN THEIR BASEMENT OR IT'S STUCK IN A CORNER OF THE COURTHOUSE NOBODY HAS LOOKED IN BEFORE. THAT BOOK HAS SO MUCH INFORMATION IN IT. WHAT YEAR DID IT "DISAPPEAR" DOES ANYONE KNOW? I THINK IT'S KINDA FUNNY THAT THEY HAVE DEEDS, WILLS, ETC. BUT NOT THE MARRIAGE BOOK. WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE COPY SOME OF THE MARRIAGE RECORDS OUT OF THE OLD BOOK SO WE WOULD HAVE MORE SOLID INFO INSTEAD OF VAGUE CENSUS RECORDS.
