I'm looking for info on John and Polly Whiteley b cir 1808 in Russell Co, VA. They were bound out by the Overseers of the Poor in 1808 and again in 1810 Russell Co, VA. Russ Co Law Order Book 3, page 706 dated May 3, 1808 "Overseers of the poor bind out John Whiteley & Polly Whiteley, infants of Joseph Whiteley, Jr." From Abstracts of Russell Co. VA compiled by EJ Sutherland: Dated March 6, 1810 "On motion of John Anderson one of the Overseers of the Poor, it is ordered that John Whiteley, Polly Whiteley, Harden Owens, Nicholas Owens, Reece Owens, & Rhody Owens, orphan children, be bound out as apprentices by the Overseer of the Poor according to law." I'm aware that Joseph Whiteley b 1754 m Sarah Stapleton had children John b 1780 and a Mary "Polly" b 1792 but these children were not "infants" as stated in the 1808 order. I believe that John and Polly were the children of Joseph Whiteley b cir 1778 and Frances Lea Whiteley. This same Frances is m to William Owens in Russell Co, VA by 1818 per Implied Marriages (Russ Co Deed Book 6, pg 142). I'm looking for more information on this marriage between Joseph and Frances.
