I have these Cooks in my line. Don't know if this will help. Finney is/was in Russell County I think.

1. HANNAH2 FIELDS (JOHN1) was born 1812 in Finney, VA. She married JOHN COOKE May 03, 1831.

On page 15 of this book it has the following:
Cooke, John 3 May 1831; Hannah, daughter of John Fields (R:DB9:10)

John Cook is first found in the Russell County, VA census. Estimated birth date is around 1804. He married Hannah Fields (b. ca 1812) daughter of John Fields and Unknown. John and Hannah owned a farm lying on Sandy Ridge, Indian Creek, and Weavers Creek in the area now known as Buchanan County.

2. ISAAC NEWTON3 COOK (HANNAH2 FIELDS, JOHN1) was born 1836 in Russell Co., VA. He married (1) ESTA MCGLOTHLIN. He married (2) LEAH COOK June 21, 1860, daughter of HENRY COOK and MARY ?.

Isaac was a soldier in the Confederate Army. He enrolled on March 29, 1862 and was in Company I, 16th KY.

May have been born in 1846.

Have a Deed of Trust for land in Sullivan County, MO for "all of the southeast fourst of the Southwest quarter, and the Southwest fourth of the Southeast quarter of Section Twelve Township Sixty-three North; Range Twenty-two West of the Fifth Principal meridian. Containing 80 acres, more or less. for shich they paid $1600 on April 3, 1905.
