Thank you for the additional information. I keep looking for a death record or something that might indicate what happened to James Whitt between 1850 and 1860. I am a descendant of his through a son Richard Whitt. Richard is buried in our family cemetery in Wise County, VA along with last wife, Florence Robinson Whitt.
