I’ve never been to Wytheville. I did get an email from the Wythe County Historical Society that said there were no Hale families living in Wythe County, VA during the time that my great great grandfather would have been born. They did say that there were Hale families in Grayson County that had sons named John that were born about the time of my great great grandfather. But, I’ve not been able to find any info that those males were my great great grandfather.
