Joseph Duff aka Joseph Wyatt

I am looking for information on a Joseph Duff in the time period 1860-1900 in Russell County, VA. His father was John Wyatt.

In 1895 John Wyatt wrote his will in Russell Co., VA. In it he recognizes a boy named Joseph Duff as his son: "I hereby recognize my son, Joseph Duff, and I give to him the following property -- the Marebird by name, and her yearling colt, and two cows, two beds with the clothing, and steads, and my shotgun and watch. I request him of his own free will to assume the name Joseph Wyatt as a mark of his regard for me."

John Wyatt and wife Margaret had other children born 1857-1865 who were named Martha Jane Wyatt, Mary Ann Wyatt (married Joseph B. Ashbrook), and Louisa Wyatt (married Patton May).

I have found a few boys named Joseph Duff in the Russell County census but have no idea when the boy was born. Does anyone know him?
