Jefferson Powers and his wife Mahala are listed in the 1850 Russell county Census.
Mary Kegley's Zion Church Records (Wythe County) lists the baptism of Jefferson Powers April 17, 1806 the son of John Powers and Elizabeth. John Powers migrated on to McMinn Cty TN around 1830 and was the son of George Powers.
Would Love to correspond with any descendents of Jefferson Powers and Mahala.
Does anyone know Mahala's surname?
I also noticed that Mahala's will is available in Russell County.
