Thank you for that info, he was a miner and I've been trying to track his steps by his children's birth's (11) and, they didn't have birth cert.'s just names like coal town or dumps creek etc., from memory. My grandpa was a miner, born in 1881 in Ga., he ended up in McDowell Co.WV where he died in 1950 as a retired miner. Could trace him by census but, that didn't include the yrs. in between. My grandma's bible burned in a house fire in Harlan Co. Ky.,in 1930's, so they moved alot.
It was hard times, knowing names of mines, towns helps!
