I saw your posting about Dumps Creek on the forum. If your grandfather was a miner I would say that he might have lived in Clinchfield, VA. Dumps Creek runs through Clinchfield and there have been numbers of coal mines there over the years. Clinchfield coal Company owned almost all of the mines in this area. Clinchfield is between Cleveland and Dante, VA
