I recently found a transcription of my great grandfather's death record on the web.

WILLIAM MORGAN BARNETTE b. 4-16-1832 Va. d. 8-31-1917 Castlewood, Russell County Va.

His parents are listed as JAMES BARNETTE & MARY BELCHER.

So far, I have not been able to find any records on JAMES or MARY. Absolutely nothing-marriage, birth and death dates places of birth & death. I realize with this early date there may not be any records.

I joined the BELCHER BLUES newsletter and other BELCHER sites but no one recognises this family.

I am hoping that WILLIAM MORGAN BARNETTE had brothers and sisters but so far no evidence. I have records of WILLIAM's 2 marriages.ELIZABETH CONN & SIDNEY BETHANY RAMSEY both from Russell County Va. WILLIAM & ELIZABETH ( they married in Ky) lived in Morgan County, Ky. and Green, Scioto, Ohio then back to Virginia where they divorced ( no records)

I am hoping someone recognises this family with the little information that I can supply. If so, please contact me at this forum.

Many Thanks,
Regenia Campbell
