Louise> That is kind and I appreciate it. email@example.com. I have been meeting S.A. Fraley on your road concerning my ggggrandfather Mark Whitaker and his family lived in the loop of the Clinch River [purchased it in 1805]. I think the propery is owned by the Bushes now [haven't met them].
I have met a couple of times with the Temple Hill Memorial Gardens and the Fort Gibson United Methodist Church [Mark founded the church in 1786] to work out a marker for Mark Whitaker. At this time it looks like a bronze plaque at the church and granite inscription markers at Temple Hill. Geneva Mullins has been a big help. I live in SC and I am about 3 hours away.
Some Whitaker researchers think Mark was buried at the fort. I think he was buried on his land. We will probably never know. Bob.
