LOL - no, you didn't throw me off. I knew when the dates were (or approximately, anyway). These are an entirely NEW "set" of Allens for me to explore, and I am excited about getting started with them!! To date, have been researching at least five different Allen families and have not connected to any of them !! Always close, but not close enough. One would think when families live as very close neighbors in two or three different states/localities there just might be a connecting link. In at least one case, lived in the same household !! James Davidson I mentioned in the previous post married Rachel Allen Noble. His two nieces, Mary Davidson and her sister, Nancy Susan Davidson (my gr grandmother) married David "Clabber" Allen and Philip Marion Allen. None of the three Allens are known to be related to the other. Then, Elizabeth Allen Hays son, John, had a grandson (my grandfather) who married a dau of Philip Marion & Nancy Susan Allen. How can these families not be related in some way ?!?
