Koontz / Counts / Counce etc.

Balthasar Kunz bought land at Pugh's Run, Frederick Co., VA in 1766. He bought land at Brock's Gap, Rockingham Co., VA in 1770. His wife was Catherine Unknown. His son's were Henry m. Susannah Schaeffer and possibly Christian Kouns m. Anna Lamp. The earliest record we have is the land record of 1766. Does anyone know a family he connects to. We have tried for many years to connect him to a Koontz family in the Shenandoah Valley, but can not. Please contact me if you run across anything pertaining to Balthasar. Spelling variations:
Kunz, Kuntz, Kuhns, Kounse, Counce, Counts.
Balthasar Counts is mentioned in the book, "The Planting of the New Virginia." Balthasar and family migrated to Greenbrier, Monroe, Kanawha and Nicholas Counties (W)VA.
Thanks you, Cheryl Bloomfield
