My ggggrandmother was Margaret Alabaugh daughter of David and Elizabeth Allebaugh.

I saw your older posting on Noah and was hoping you had more info.

Margaret was born 16 Feb 1822 in Rockingham Co., Virginia.
died 26 Nov 1893 in Whitley Co., Indiana.
Buried in Greenhill Cemt., Columbia City, Ind.

She Married George W Bower 13 Feb 1845 in Perry Co., Ohio.

George W Bower Bio:
GEORGE BOWER was born in Licking County, Ohio, February 2, 1823, and was the son of Jacob and Mary Bower, who were born in Pennsylvania, the father dying in Perry County, Ohio, and the mother living with her daughter in Van Wert County, active and hale at the age of eighty-four years. Our subject was married, in Perry County, February 13, 1845, to Miss Margaret Alabaugh, native of Rockingham County, Va., and daughter of David and Elizabeth Alabaugh, natives of the same county. In 1849, subject and wife came to this township, and on the 6th of October located on present farm, which Mr. Bower had purchased without first viewing, but which proved to be better than represented. To the first eighty acres he has added till he has 280 acres, and has also presented another lot of eighty acres to his son. He has now 210 acres under cultivation. April 2, 1878, our subject's dwelling was set on fire, between 11 and 12 o'clock at night, by which he lost house, clothing, furniture, his barn and straw rick, but has recovered them all. He and wife are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and have had nine children, viz.: William, married; Jacob, married; David, killed by a falling tree limb; Samantha; Charles, married; Annie, Alice, Elmer and Samuel.

Her sisters Eliza b.19 Jan 1810 (married to William M Swayze) and Mary b. 20 Dec 1828 (Married to Henry Cobaugh)
moved to Whitley Co. soon after Margaret.

David and Elizabeth moved to Whitley Co. abt. 1853.

They died in Whitley Co. but not yet sure if they are buried there.

I just looked at the estate records for David and Elizabeth last week and they list their children
as Eliza, Margaret, Mary, Samuel D., Maria (married to Anderson Hupp), John?, Noah, and Christian.

Eliza was born in 1810 in Penn. and the family moved to Rockingham Co. in 1817, and then to Fairfield Co., Ohio, then Perry Co. Ohio.

I have the obits for Margaret, Eliza, and Mary and the bio for George Bower.

I don't have info on the male siblings and wives, or the cousins of the Allebaugh sisters? Do you?

Do you have any info on David and Elizabeth and their ancestors?

Whitley Co. also has estate info (1861) on Andrew Allebaugh married to Martha. not sure if this is a
cousin or nephew of Margaret. Do you know anything about him?

Thank You.

Jonathan Nash
