Please forgive the length on this, but here goes.......
Henry Munday married Elizabeth Roadcap, daughter of Peachy Roadcap and Elizabeth Parker on 20 Jan 1869 in Rockingham County, Va. as per Roadcap Female Index to Marriage Registers (Book 1, p. 50). From there on, it gets weird.
Elizabeth [Roadcap] Munday is living with her parents in the 1870 below, but her husband Henry Munday is not found in the household, or anywhere else in 1870.

Henry and Elizabeth Munday are found living together in the 1880 below with several children.

Then Henry Monday disappears. Neither Henry, nor his wife Elizabeth can be found in the 1900 census, but I do find Elizabeth's out-of-wedlock son John Roadcap with a number of other family members. However, I question whether the relationships are stated correctly.

Then I find the widow Elizabeth Munday living with her out-of-wedlock son John Roadcap in the 1910 and 1920 census records below. Note that Elizabeth is now going by Elizabeth Roadcap, instead of by her married name Elizabeth Munday. Again, I do not know if the relationships are stated correctly.

According to her Rockingham County, Va. death record, Mrs. Elizabeth Roadcap [this is how she is listed], daughter of Peachy Roadcap and not known, birth date not known, was born in Va. and died on 9 July 1923 in Stonewall District, Rockingham County, Va. at the age of "abt. 78," as reported by John Roadcap of Port Republic. Note that her son John Roadcap reported his mother's name as MRS. Elizabeth Roadcap, instead of Mrs. Elizabeth Munday. She is also named as Elizabeth Roadcap on her tombstone.
Finally, John Roadcap appears in the 1930 record below, along with a number of family members. Their stated relationship to him does not match the relationships previously stated in other census records.

If anyone knows how to untangle this family, please contact me. Whose child is Turner L. Munday ? Whose children are Lucy and Laura Roadcap ? Is Dora a Ralston or a Roadcap ? Is Mike Roadcap John's nephew or his brother ? Is George Roadcap (who is 16 years younger than John) really his uncle ? Is Mollie Munday John's sister or half-sister ? I appreciate any help !
