Grigsbys & Petticrews, Rockbridge Co., 1700s-1800s.

Were there two William Grigsbys in Rockbridge Co. in this time, both of whom had daughters named Jane?

I have seen an 1818 Rockbridge marriage bond between Robert Pettycrew and Jane Grigsby, naming her father as William.

I have also seen an 1838 Rockbridge chancery court record, given below, that lists a John Pettigrew as husband of a Jane, heir of William Grigsby.
Locality Index Number Original Case Number
ROCKBRIDGE CO 1838-010 4.14
Plaintiff(s) Defendant(s)

On page 5 there is a list of children/heirs of William Grigsby and Sally his wife, who were both dead by 1838. It includes where the children were in 1838:

Samuel Grigsby, Ohio;
David Templeton and Elizabeth his wife, Indiana;
Robert French and Phoebe his wife, Ohio;
John Pettigrew and Jane his wife, Ohio;
Wm Carper and Caroline his wife, Ohio;
Nathan Carpenter and Cynthia his wife, Rockbridge Co.

As far as I know, the listed wives were all daughters of William and Sally.

If you can shed any light on the mystery of two different Pettycrews/Pettigrews given as husband of Jane, please post a reply. Were there, by chance, two William Grigsbys each with a daughter named Jane?

Thanks for your help.
