The Children of John William and Jean Wendell/Windle
Posted by: Russell Windle (ID *****6868) Date: June 24, 2009 at 04:08:30

I am look for the Children of John William and Jean Wendell/Windle. The 1810 Census for Rockbridge Co. list them as having two 1 girl and 1 boy under the age of 10. I believe the boy is my gr gr gr grandfather John A. Windle. Most Germans used a naming convention by which the first son was named after the father's father, John A. named his first son John William.

John A also settled or lived with two of William's brothers, which would make them his uncles. First Andrew Moore Windle in Pickens Co. AL where his first son John William was born. Second Joseph Hawkins Windle in Overton County TN. Where his second son James was born, following the naming convention James would have to be named after his mother, Jean's father.

This line descends from Christopher Wendell through his son Daniel and his wife Mary Hawkins.

Any help would be greatly and deeply appreciated, I have been trying to locate John A.'s father since 1996.

Thank you
Russell L Windle
