John Pleasant Chittum family mid-19th Century

I will be visiting Rockbridge County this weekend and am looking for information on the Chittums of Rockbridge County mid-nineteenth century. I am descended on my mother's side from John Pleasant Chittum - Benjamin Franklin Chittum - James Earnest Chittum - Charlotte Chittum Bachman - Sharon Bachman Grandfield (my mom).

I have seen records that indicate John Pleasant Chittum is buried at Hartbarger Cemetery and need directions on how to get there including a road map (today's maps do not show "Waterloo"). I understand that there is a Chittum family book at Washington and Lee Library and will stop there. I am just wondering if you would recommend any other places to visit to get more information on the mid-nineteenth century John Pleasant Chittum family. Any help with hours of operation and locations worth visiting would be helpful.

Thanks, Irish
