Sorry to hear about this, even 158 years after the fact. I keep finding out about more and more people murdered in antebellum Kentucky; seems to have been as dangerous then as some inner cities are today.
Unfortunately, I don't know what else to suggest in terms of finding more detail about the marriage of James and Rebecca Holt. I have not come across very many church records from Rockbridge for this period.
The prior message had said "early 1800s," so I didn't know but what these Holts could have been married before 1815, so as perhaps to have become the parents of my mysterious Rebecca.
