Searching for the parents of John G. TROUT 1788-after 1860 and wife Susannah unknown 1804-after 1860 who are noted in the 1840, 1850, and 1860 census as living in Rockbridge County, VA. Children to this union included Hannah 1827; Andrew I. 1830; Susannah 1833; Rachel M. 1835; William H. 13 Apr 1837; Catherine H. 1844; and Franklin R. 1847; all presumably born in Rockbridge County, VA. William H. TROUT 1837-1910 was a private in Company "H" (Captain W.C. Winn), 22nd Bn. Virginia Infantry Regiment (Col. Taylor - Barton’s Brigade), and was listed at the surrender at Appomattox Courthouse.
There is a John TROUT (no further information) noted in the 1830 census, but is too old and has too many children in household to be John B. TROUT. Perhaps young John B. TROUT and his young family are living in same household with his parents and this 1830 John was his father.
