You might want to check out one Samuel Mitchell. He was next neighbor to several Frantz land patents. The earliest survey date for those listing him is May 1804, for land on waters of Peter's Creek, branch of Roanoke River (near Mason's Creek). This Samuel was at least 21 by the survey date.

He also had a large inclusive survey of 1050a for land on Peters Creek, much of which had been earlier patented by Methuselah Griffith and his heir (son?) John Griffith. This land was on Peter's Creek and adjoined several Frantz tracts he is named on.

This size tract suggests a landowner of not inconsiderable means, as opposed to landholders who farmed their land.
