Ken,
The Hite Company was founded in Roanoke, Va. in the late 1800s by S. P. Hite. The company moved to Staunton, Va. for a few years and then back to the Roanoke Valley. The company sold about 80 products by approx. 2 dozen cross country salesmen. I have info on the factory before it burn down, etc. etc. but I'm still digging to see what the S.P. stands for. Will get back to you soon. Is there an S. P. Hite in the family tree?
Sue Garnett of Virginia
