DNA and BARTLETTs in Richmond Co, VA

I'm looking for any BARTLETT in Richmond Co, VA who is alive today. The surrounding counties would work too. I have started the BARTLETT-DNA project, with some interesting results so far, and growing enthusiasm
among Colonial VA BARTLETT descendants.

My confirmed line is Thomas BARTLETT c1730-1806 of Fauquier and Harrison Co, VA - I am positive he is the son of Thomas BARTLET c1705-1783 of Richmond Co, VA, but only have two small clues, plus the migration pattern to Fauquier Co in the 1750s and 60s. We've pretty much proved another son of
Thomas BARTLETT c1705 to be John BARTLETT c1725-1807 who married Anne SETTLE, daughter of Henry SETTLE (1770 Will in Richmond Co) - John went to Culpeper Co in 1760 and Fluvanna Co in 1791. Only one son of Thomas BARTLETT c1705-1783 remained in Richmond Co, VA - Elisha BARTLETT, who
died there in 1803. I believe all the BARTLETTs in Richmond and probably Westmoreland Co, VA today descend from this Elisha BARTLETT. I would like to contact some descendants of Elisha BARTLETT and get them to join our
BARTLETT-DNA project (the DNA sample is just a cheek swab - no pain or blood). A DNA sample from a Richmond Co BARTLETT could providing far reaching evidence that would benefit many other BARTLETT lines...

Please contact me on this list or at jimbartlett@mindspring.com. Thank you,

Jim Bartlett, Gaithersburg, MD
