In Reply to: RANKIN FAMILY by Kathy Rankin of 563

Beatrice Rankin was my grandmother, my mother's mother. I remember that grannie's mother's name was Susan Whitaker & grannie's maiden name was Rankin. I was so thrilled to run across this other information last night. I did not remember that Susan's husband was Beauegard, I didn't know anything about him, or even grannie's brothers & sisters. Do you have other information about the family? Grannie Rhoades (as she was known to all, even up until her death) was married at age 13 to Joseph William (or was it William
Joseph?) Rhoades. Their children were Billy, Tommy (James Amos), Paul, Lee (Audry Lee), Bobby, Arlene, Lucille, Gloria (she was sometimes called "Susie", apparently because she looked so much like her grandmother), Vaneda, Joyce Ann (Alma Joyce) and Frances (my mother). There were three sons who all died by the age of 2 or so, Harry, Perry and Little Joe. They also had four miscarriages. Beatrice passed away in August 1972, five weeks before my first child. Beatrice, Joseph, their three infant sons & youngest daughter, Joyce, are all buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski. As far as I know, the only child of Beatrice and Joseph still living is Bobby. Hope some of this helps you. If you have any information at all about Beatrice I really would love to know everything.
