James Adair was in Montgomery Co VA. First appeared in 1789 tax list. At one time (before 1800) he was located in that part of Montgomery Co that became Giles Co in 1808. Go to and type in Adair Run and you will find the location at the junction of the New River and East River right near the WV state line.

I am a descendant of Lynch Currin who was the clerk of the court for Pulaski (1839-1863) and have a book on the Currin family. The following information I extracted from the Pulaski Co court records:

Lynch A. Currin Appointed Guardian of John Addair Children, 1848.
Pulaski County, Virginia Court Order Book 1839-1850, 4 May 1848. The court doth appoint Lynch A. Currin guardian of Moses Addair, orphan of John Addair, Harvey H. Addair, orphan of James Addair who was a son of John Addair, deceased heirs and distributees of James Addair, deceased and thereupon the said Lynch A. Currin and William Miller as his security entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $1,500.00 with the conditions required by law.
