Booker, Eggleston, Redd, Dupuy, Daniel, Bell, Richardson, Watkins

I had been struggling with the Booker family as there were so many of them it was hard to distinguish them. I had also been somewhat confused as to the connection of Dr. Eggleston, who had contributed much genealogical information over the years (some records at Hampton-Sydney College) and his connection to the Redd family. I think I have solved the problem, as well as some collateral issues that came up. (Boy oh boy, are everybody cousins or what?) Hope this isn’t too confusing . . . .

John Booker, Judge, (May 18, 1769-January 31, 1825) m. Martha Jane Watkins (August 20-1771-1852), Prince Edward Co., VA.
Their children were:

·       Martha Ann Watkins Booker (b. May 4, 1792)
·       William Parham Booker, of Kentucky (b. January 19, 1795)
·       Harriet Booker (b. November 14, 1796)
·       Pamela Pen “Permelia” Booker (b. May 28, 1798)
·       Thomas D. Booker (b. January 27, 1800)
·       Edward Flournoy Booker (b. June 9, 1804)
·       Samuel Davies Booker (b. December 28, 1805)
·       Elizabeth Morton “Lizzie” Booker (b. July 21, 1807)
·       James Madison Booker, of Prince Edward (b. November 8, 1808)
·       John Booker (b. December 29, 1809)
·       Martha Jane Booker (b. date unk.)

Redd, Elbert Fletcher (April 21, 1805-Abt 1866) m. (3rd wife) Elizabeth Morton “Lizzie” Booker b. July 21, 1807, d. 1884

Samuel "Sam Short" Watson (1776-1841) m. Pamelia “Permelia” Booker (2nd wife, m. 1848) b. May 28, 1798. “children of Unk Tuggle [Note: Mary F. Tuggle] inherited from Sam & Permelia Watson” [Judge Redmond S. Cole].
Ann Watson, sister of Samuel "Sam Short" Watson m. Alexander Ritchie; their son John Watson Ritchie m. Mary F. Tuggle (1st wife), their children inherited from Samuel Watson and Permelia Booker Watson. Note: 2nd wife of John Watson Ritchie was Ann V. Redd, (b. Abt 1812) d/o Joseph Truman Redd, Sr. and Elsie Wright.

Edward Flournoy Booker m. Louisa Rebecca Richardson d/o John Davis Richardson of Rock Heath and Elizabeth Rebekah Spencer.
John Davis Richardson of Rock Heath was the s/o John “BH” Richardson of Cub Creek and Rebecca Davis.
James Richardson (b. June 16, 1783) was also the s/o John “BH” Richardson of Cub Creek and Rebecca Davis.
James Richardson’s wife was Mary “Polly” Watkins, b. Oct. 16, 1786, d/o George Watkins (Abt 1761 – June 1820) and Ann Redd (1767-Bef. 1795), d/o Thomas Redd and 2nd Unknown wife (purported to be Wright)

Nelia “Nellie” Booker m. William Purnall Dupuy (1845-1904).
His sister Sarah Louisa “Lulie” Dupuy was the wife of George Washington Redd, Jr.
Nelia “Nellie” Booker was the daughter of John Booker (December 29, 1809-April 4, 1894) and Lucinda Stanley Elliott (1812-1855)
Ann Carrington Booker (Feb. 2, 1836) was the daughter of John Booker and Lucinda Stanley Elliott. She married Joseph Dupuy Eggleston, MD. Dr. Eggleston has written much about the Redd family history.

Violet Bell (b. September 7, 1785 – January 27, 1844) m. James Kelso Daniel (Abt 1778 – 1845).
Violet Bell was the d/o George Bell (1740-1816) and Rebecca Calhoun (1753-1822).
James Kelso Daniel was the son of John Daniel (1748-1838) and Sarah Cunningham (d. July 1816).
Elizabeth Ann Daniel (June 4, 1780-1850), d/o John Daniel and Sarah Cunningham, m. William Anderson Redd (March 19, 1775-January 12, 1838, son of Thomas Redd (1730-1801) and 3rd wife Frances Anderson (d. Aft 1805).

William Calhoun Bell s/o George Bell and Rebecca Calhoun (March 20, 1790 - ) m. Mary Ann Watkins Booker (May 4, 1792 - )
