Well Rhonda, this is way off from your subject but since you seem to have access to maps I wonder if you have ever seen the names Lorton or Gannaway on your maps? I am descended from Rev. War Robert Lorton (b. 1747)married to Tabitha Gannaway (b. 1763)married in Prince Edward Co. the home of the bride. R. Lorton served under Captain John Morton married to Mary Anderson. They lived in Prince Edward Co. Tabitha was the daughter of John Gannaway Sr. and Mary Byrum. Abraham Venable was surety at John Gannway and Mary Byrum's marriage. Would you know how I could get copies of maps giving the names of landholders for the area at that time? (1760s) John Gannaway Sr. died in 1783. Thank you very much for any help you can give me.
