Marilyn,
I can tell you one Jean-Pierre (John Peter) Bondurant, was a founder of Manakintowne, Virginia. Manakintown at one time was in Goochland County, but it became Powhatan in 1777. A John Peter Bondurant's daughter, Frances, married Peter Salle' b. 1708 or 1709, son of Abraham and Olive. John Peter Bondurant patented land on Jone'es Creek and his will (1734-1735) named his daughter Frances Salle'. By the time of his will Peter appears also to have patented land in Albemarle County (now Buckingham) for he left 400 acres to Frances in that county.
I wish I could be of more assistance to you, but if all you have is a name, without dates and/or more connected kin, we are just guessing and such should not be a part of genealogy. In order for me, or anyone else, to help you more information is needed; more, as in to whom is this name legally attached? A birth date, death date, or a marriage record would be the type of searchable evidence.
All of the above and more, is found in "Turff&Twigg" by Priscilla Harriss Cabell - 1988. As I have mentioned previously a local library is you best source, if you cannot visit Goochland Court House in Goochland County, Virginia
Good luck.
