Just encouraging male members of the Templeton line to consider getting their Y-DNA tested from organizations such as Family Tree DNA (familytreedna.com). The Y DNA is uniquely passed from father to son, generation to generation with few (if any) changes (mutations) from your great-grandfather to you. Gathering such data into national databases could help us gather otherwise unknown ties. Of particular interest to me is the Templeton line prior to Iredell County, NC for Thomas, Robert & John of Hunting Creek (of Methodist-Episcopal persuasion). Clues hint they came from Pittsylvania County, VA and prior to 1750 perhaps Scotland or Ireland. Subsequently, members of the line moved to S-W VA, Missouri, Texas & Mississippi.
