My husbands grandfather Samuel Jones East was born in Gretna on 18Jul1896 to Robert Lee East (b.23Dec1869 M.???
d. Montgomery Co. N.C.) Samuel had three brothers and four sisters (Russell, Robert, Graham, Mary, Lulu, Betsey, Margaret)possibly born in or around the Gretna area. Samuel raised his family in Montgomery County NC,with at least one brother making the move also. Robert is buried there so apparently made the move with at least two of his sons. I am looking for any and all information possible about Robert Lee East. I feel he was born in the Gretna area and married there. But Where and to whom? Any help would be appreciated!!
