I sent most of this info privately to Dave (Martin) awhile back, but it might be of help.
I would try to search the early personal tax records for Henry Co VA. For example, if your records show that John Pigg Martin was b ~1777 in Henry Co VA and went to GA some 13 yrs later, then his family should appear in the tax records during this interval.
For the years 1778-1780, these have been transcribed in book form:
"Tax Lists of Henry County, Virginia, 1778-1880", Lela C Adams.
For each of the years 1778, 1779 and 1780 there are five Martin families and one Pigg family listed:
John Martin [In 1778 he is listed as Capt. John Martin -- Woods to pay]
Also listed in these records is a James Pigg.
Tax records for the years 1782 and beyond are available on microfilm from Family History library.
I have found these personal tax records very valuable since they list all heads of household, not just property owners.
If Isacc Martin d. 1774, then he could not be the father of John Pigg Martin (b ~1777). Perhaps his grandfather?
[I also recommended Y-DNA testing of the various lines, but it looks like you're already pursuing this avenue.]
Best of luck.
