I have hit the proverbial "Brick Wall" in trying to locate the parents of John Pigg Martin who was born in Henry County, Virginia. He was born April 23, 1777 He later died in Smith County, Mississippi. When young he moved to warren county, georgia. Possibly also Jefferson County, Georgia. He became a fairly well known Baptist minister, especially in the counties of Lawrence, Covington and Smith , Mississippi. He served in the Georgia Infantry in the Revolutionary War. If there are any Martin's who may be descendants of this man please help me find who his parents were. Thanks so much for any information or reference resources. By the way, he was good friends with Norvell Robertson whose family and his intertwined through marriage. They both moved on later to Mississippi. Norvell Robertson was also a well known Baptist preacher.
