I just joined the site after Google-ing "Carrie Shough Yates."

My grandfather was Ernest Stuart Yates. He died in 1987. His daughter is my mother, Dixie Yates Collins. His older brother, George Henry "Curly", died in 1976. The two brothers founded Yates Brothers Contracting in the 1950's and were based in Hopewell, Virginia (Prince George County). Ernest, and his wife Dovie Massey Yates, are buried in Eden, NC (where they lived much of their younger married life). My mother had 3 sisters (twins- Ruth & Rachel, Ruth is deceased 1982. And Louise, the first-born, died in 1938 of Rheumatic Fever). Dovie, my grandmother, died in 2005 at age 93. I have extensive information of both brothers' families if needed.

Nelson Hunter "Hunt" died in, I believe the late 1950's or early 1960's. He and Homer both suffered from severe alcoholism and died of complications of their addiction. Homer died after Hunt, but I am not certain of the exact year. Homer died in Floyd, VA. Nelson was in Hopewell, where he periodically worked for his brothers house-building business.

I'm Edward Stuart Collins, residing in upstate, South Carolina. My mother and lots of Ernest's descendants are still in Prince George.
