Lafayette Lawson died in Carroll County about 1879. He married Nancy A Surratt(B 1855 in Carroll) about 1872 and they had a son John Rufus about 1878. Lafayette was born in Patrick County between 1825 & 1830 to John W. & Martha Lawson.
Does anyone know if he was married before he married Nancy Surratt in 1872?
Could he be the same Lafayette Lawson married to Lucinda D. Foster in Patrick County about 1858? I know this couple had a son James A. born 1859. I am trying to find out if maybe they had another son born about 1862 and if Lucinda died between 1860 & 1870.
I am having trouble finding the parents of George W. Lawson because I don't know the county he came from--but he ended up married and settling in Carroll County.
If anyone has any information on these families--I would greatly appreciate the help!! I get stumped no matter which way I go!!
