The more information that I collect, the more it seems that Denis Doyle who owned alot of land in Goochland and then Albermarle Co.s, VA from 1741 to 1760 was the father of Martin Doyle who married Morning Webb.
I know that there has been research that states that Martin was a native of Ireland and lived in Cumberland Co., VA. He may have lived in Cumberland Co., VA but I believe that Martin was the son of Denis Doyle and the brother of John Doyle who was probably with Martin in Henry Co., VA in the early 1780's. John ended up in Mayesville KY on the Ohio R.
The same researchers have a John Doyle, s/o Martin and Morning, born in 1780 in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. The Blue Ridge Mtns run along the whole western part of VA, so that narrows it down to about 250mi. John may have been born in the Albemarle area of VA where the Webbs and Denis Doyle lived. Sometime between 1760 and 1780 the Webbs and Doyles moved to Henry Co., VA and when Patrick Co., was formed from Henry Co., in 1780 they lived in Patrick Co. It would seem more logical since Morning was b. 1762 that John Doyle her son, if in fact he was b. in 1780, was b. in Henry Co., rather than Albermarle or any of those counties that border the BR Mtns. Henry Co., by the way was on the border between VA and NC and just north of Surry etc.
If anyone out there has any info that either confirms or denys the above, I would like to hear from you. Also according to Heritage.com, there were no Martin Doyles in RW, so that would seem to debunk the info that he was???
