Penn-Kennerly-Christian ties

I believe that Mary Christian Kennerly who became the 2nd wife of Thomas G. Penn in Patrick Co., Va., in the early 1800s is probably the daughter of Joseph Kennerly and Sarah "Sally" Christian, who were originally from Amherst Co. VA. Further, Sarah appears to be the daughter of Robert Christian and Mary Wynn of Amherst Co., Va.
I'm less confident in trying to identify the origins of Martha A. Kennerly who who married Thomas' son by first marriage, Andrew Jackson Penn. I know from Patrick Co. Census records that Andrew (also called Jackson in the records) was born in 1811 and Martha in 1816.
Among the various documents supporting a connection here, I have record showing that Andrew and Martha's son Peter Penn was described as the nephew of James Kennerly (son of Joseph Kennerly and Sarah Christian) when James died in Patrick Co., in 1881 (he was born in 1799). That would make the most sense if Martha, like Mary, was James' sister.
Any help in identifying these families' interconnections is appreciated.
