Maggie314-

OH WOW! This is too cool! I've been trying to do a little research on the family- I'm totally not related- I just found a nice little trunk in an antique store in Orange County, VA. It had the shipping labels on it, and his name is posted on the inside of the trunk as well. I just thought it would be neat to trace someone's ancestry through an object like this, and it's pretty neat to see how far I've gotten, and the great response I am getting.

that is really neat- An artist. The trunk is rather small, and there are no stains, so I imagine it was for his clothing and whatnot, versus the artist tools. The tray in the trunk is gone. What kind of painting is it? Portrait, landscape? Oil?
