In Reply to: WRIGHT FAMILY by Patsy Kennedy of 889

Hello Patsy, my Wright family is from the early Brunswick/Albemarle Co. area of VA & were closely associated with the establishing of the Methodist-Episcopal denomination in VA. Many of these Wrights went on to Greene Co. OH (as well as other counties) & my line ended up in the Henry Co. IN & Jasper/Edgar Co. IL areas. Most were M-E ministers. Orange Co. was, I believe, the 2nd place in VA where the M-E church was established & Brunswick Co. was the first. You possibly are from this same family. My Reuben Wright married Anna Gilbert in Sussex Co. VA in 1798 & both died in Wayne Co. IN. Look for my posts for more info on my line & it might help you too. Not too many folks researching this Wright line & I would love to learn where they came from originally. If you find that info, please post & I'll do the same. Good luck - you'll need it. I've been hunting this group for years now & come up with very little early info. They lived in the same places & at the same times as the "Wright Bros" family but if there is a connection between the 2 lines, I haven't found it.
