Sorry that it has taken so long to respond to you. In the book, Soldiers, Stories, Sites and Fights Orange County, Virginia 1861-1865 and the Aftermath by Patricia J. Hurst I found reference to a Wyatte Jefferson Hughes. It states that he served in Co. I 6th Va Cavalry and Co.A 13th VA Inf. He was born May 26, 1825 in Orange County and died December 31, 1895 in Verdiersville. He is buried in family cemetery on Rt. 624 and lived in Verdiersville.

Hope this is helpful information
Kristi
