Cockrell family of Northumberland County, VA
Posted by: Michael Clark (ID *****2571) Date: September 02, 2009 at 11:54:35

I am trying to find a living heir of the Cockrell (various spellings possible) family. I am searching for a male Cockrell heir carrying the Cockrell surname; who is still living in Northumberland County, or one of its surrounding counties. I believe the Cockrell immigrant may have arrived from London between 1630 and 1670. My Cockrell line settled in SW Virginia before 1773, with evidence of residence in Fincastle county in 1773, and Washington county just after the Revolution. I am trying to see if I can connect this SW Virginia Cockrell line back to this immigrant line in Northumberland County, VA. My cousins and I have been working on related lines for over 30 years. Thank you in advance. Mike Clark. Mikeandmaeclark@aol.com
