Trying to locate information on ancestors/siblings/descendants of Joseph S. Clarke and Susan Jane Windsor Owens Clarke who lived in Northumberland County, VA. They were married in 1866. She was married previously to Robert Owens. Susan and Joseph S. Clarke had two children: Susan F. Clarke, born in 1868, and George M. Clarke. Susan F. Clarke (the daughter) married Logan M. Talley in 1888. In 1870 Joseph S. and Susan Jane Windsor Owens Clarke lived in White Chapel Township, Lancaster County, Virginia. In 1880, they lived in Wicomico Magisterial District of Northumberland County. Susan Jane Windsor Owens Clarke died 24 March 1889 in Northumberland County, aged 65 years. It is possible that she is buried on the property that Joseph S. Clarke likely owned at the time of her death, located near Bells Store, adjoining the lands of Dawson & Hollaay and Charles Turner, composed of 100 acres in Wicomico Magisterial District in Northumberland County, VA. I am descended from Susan Jane Windsor Owens Clarke through her first marriage to Robert Owens, and would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone with further information on her and on the half-siblings of my great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Owens, who was the daughter of Susan Owens Clarke and her first husband Robert Owens. Robert Owens was mortally wounded in action at the Battle of Mechanicsville in 1862.
