>>George, who married Mary Bottom would likely be a son.<<

George (m. Mary Bottom) could be a son of Samuel (of Nansemond Co.) age and location fit. I have seen nothing that convincingly establishes another father for this George.

>>Now, for your Moses. Could there be a connection to the son Moses bapt. in 1707 at St. Peter's as son of Samuel and Elizabeth?<<

The St. Peter's Parish records include a death of a Moses Stegall Aug 19, 1721. I assume that this is this son of Saml.

>>I wonder if the John Steagall who was married to Winnifred is also a son of this Samuel.<<
He certainly could be, but no proof

In addition, the St Peter's Parish records record the death of a William Stegall March 19, 1719. He would also seem to be a possible son of Samuel.
